The operations map connects the Los Angeles campaign to live street-level battles. It can be paused or run at up to 4x speed, and zooming into a street brings the battle into view without a loading screen. Zooming back out keeps the fight running, with losses and destruction carried into the campaign. Hordes appear only within your forces' line of sight. Truck and helicopter convoys move supplies, troops, and refugees, while the Nexus threatens roads and bases. Survivors and equipment evacuated to the Port of LA form your starting force aboard the Ark for the wider world campaign.
